A little Help with a SBF in an A&C Kit
Maybe some of the Forum's A&C owners can help me out a bit.
I have an A&C Kit and I am using a 351W that came from a 1969 Cougar. According to A&C I have to attach the Motor's frame rail mounting plates/brackets to the engine mounts. The I have to position the motor between the frame rails and measure a backset from the front crossmember. Once the correct backset has been determined I can then mark for drilling holes in the frame rails so I can bolt the frame rail motor mounting plates/brackets in place. Figuring the backset was no problem. However when I positioned the motor assembly between the frame rails, there was a gap between one of the chassis brackets and the frame of about 3/4 " when the opposite side was flush up against the frame rail. Could it be I got the qrong motor mounts? Or does the rubber block of the mount stretch out? Being today is Sunday, I will have to wait until tomorrow to speak with the tech support guy at A&C; but if someone out there can help me out, I'd like to continue the job today.
