Fasteners

Besides cosmetics, is there a diference between chrome moly black oxide and stainless steel fasteners?

Is there an advantage of one over the other?

Thanks for the .02

for all intensive purposes on a Cobra, no difference.
metalurgists will disagree, there are differences, but they won't be a factor in holding your intake down, or timing cover on, your waterpump won't fly off if you use stainless, etc.

black oxide will get surface rust more easily, but you probubly guessed that.

go with a reputable fastener company like ARP and you will be good to go

Mr. Fixit,

Thanks for the input/experience. I ended up searching the ARP web site and came to a similar conclusion.
