Stroker Kits?
Would you guys recommend DSS Racing or Coast High Performance for a stroker kit? Each have given me there best rotating assembly combo's for a '69 351w stroker which is listed below. This will be for a street car using AFR 185 61cc cylinder heads and a Eldebrock RPM intake. All parts are made by these companies. Please let me know if you have used these guys before. Thanks.
DSS: (408 Stroker Kit) ProLite Forged Pistons (18cc Dish at 10.5:1 compression) Cast Steel Crank (4.00 stroke) Forged I-Beam Rods CHP: (393 Stroker Kit) Probe Sportman Race Forged Pistons Ultralights (15cc Dish at 10.1:1 comp) Cast Steel Crank (3.850 stroke) Forged I-Beam Rods |

I plan on using CHP for a 347 kit. They seem to be all over the Car Craft and Windsor build books.
Also, I have done a bit of research and I do not know how you came on AFR heads, but you have hit the best in my view. Checkout this article where they claim 100 hp increase with AFR heads. http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles...ord/index.html |
Don't know if you have already purchased the heads, but if you go 408, you may want to consider the AFR205s instead. Fast Fords and Muscle Mustangs has done extensive head test. You would want to see the Group III tests.
