289

Does any of you have a 289 in your FIA cars? I am considering putting one in Uniques 289 FIA car. How do they sound, and are the cams for the 302 interchangeable between the 289? If you do have one in your car, please post pics. One more question off topic, can you get Uniques sidepipes without mufflers?

buy an 289 fia car & put a 289 in it. With the right components it will sound awsome. I'm pretty sure everything but the crank will interchange between a 289 & 302.

And the connecting rods...
5.155 vs 5.09 for 302

They sound awesome--everthing but the crank and rods should interchange from a 302--lots of small block options out there.
With even a mild cam and moderate compression they are very torquey--depending on trans and rearend gearing, they are very quick out of the hole and have good topend.
And usually they don't mark their spots as a lot of BB's do.

Bite the bullet and install Webers--great look and incredible performance.

I was looking into webbers, but on inglese's website, all I saw was the carbureators themselves, not the intake. Do any of you know where I could get an intake for the webbers? I guess thay are pretty "salty" in price.

The listed price for the Webers for a 289-302 is about $3.5K, that includes the manifold either the original type Cobra,no thermostat housing, or a type with thermo in the intake, plus fuel rails and throttle linkage. I got the prices after talking to Inglese and they quoted me that price 6 or so months ago.

Pierce Manifolds also sell Weber set ups--a little less expensive but I was put off by the way I was treated when only making an inquiry not buying. My opinion only.
