SBF302/5.0L help
Hello to all: I'm new on this forum,I have read lots of good info in this forum and I think is time 4 me 2 ask for your help with my project.I'm working on a frame off rest on 60 F100 with many mods,one of them is the engine.Have a 87 302 roller out of a truck would like 2 convert it from FE 2 carb,my intensions with this truck is for street most likely weekends with enought power to get me out the hole when need to .the following is a description of what I got:
87 302/5.0L roller w/flat pistons edelbrock performer rpm air gap set 91 ho mustang heads also set of 351W D00e heads (optional) which of this heads make more power? what roller cam/lifters is the right one to use? carburator?distributor? thankyou in advance for all the help i can get happy holidays,ford4ever |
The D0 heads are the ones to use. Carb - I would probably use Holley 750 CFM Vac secondary List-3310 for performance or a 600 CFM Vacuum secondary LIST-1850 for street.

Hey;
I have a friend with a similiar setup. He went from a E303 to a X303 because he wanted more power but still planned on a street car. Good Luck:CRY: :JEKYLHYDE |

Hi,
You need to use a '85 duraspark distributor , it has a steel cam gear for the roller cam. A 'E' cam would be better with a performer rpm for a street aplication. 1.6 rockers are standard for a small block. Good Luck, Perry.:cool: |
MSD ready to run Distributor is nice set up and easy to hook up. I would use a Comp cam around .515 lift and 220 duration at .050. I used ford motorsport rockers adjustable stud mount because at the time summitt had them on sale. let us know how it runs when you get it together.
