Carburated Intakes ?
Heres one I found any info on this one ?
Offenhauser Dual Port intake manifolds feature completely separate runner systems for the primaries and secondaries. At low-load, the primaries feed the fuel-air charge through the smaller bottom passages at near sonic speed, improving power and efficiency. When the secondaries open, their charge goes through the bigger, cooler upper passages. Then, in turn, it is rammed into the cylinders when it encounters the high-velocity mix from the primaries. The result is better fuel economy and a 15-30 percent power increase across the whole rpm range. This model of intake for the 351w is supposed to not be in production any longer, and is not a common find. Just the regular base model of offenhauser intake for the 351w is well over $200.00 to purchase. The offenhauser intakes are great power makers, and they are made of a better more pure aluminum and outlast most other brands of intake, as their water ports rott out alot faster. I sell many intakes and they get throughly inspected and have no no surprises like with many other sellers where there is a fix or repair job needed to use it. Also there is no clean up needed to bolt on, no stuck on greasy gaskets, no silicone gasket sealer to remove etc " the intake is 100% bolt on ready ". What do you think ? Need to save some bucks on my build but I dont want to throw what little I have either . Thanks Tony |
These "Offies" have been around for 30 years that I know of. Was reading the same claims for tweaking a then new '72 Goat.
Stands to reason that if they did everything claimed, they'd be way more popular, and everybody would be using them!? But they're not. I can't say, I've never owned one. For your 351W, it would seem like you have 3 choices for an intake for a street motor that will fit under the hood of a Cobra. Edelbrock Performer RPM, Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gap (OK in sun belt, so-so in rust belt), Wiand Stealth. All ~$200 new (Summit - Jegs), maybe cheaper on eBay. |

I would have to agree with you if that design was so great it would be used more often . Found an air gap intake on ebay for 195.00 shipped to my door just hope it fits under my hood I belive this is my best bet seems to be a nice street set up . :JEKYLHYDE The stealth is a great choice I just like closing the heat risers down here in Texas more free HP .
