Brainsboy;
I've never done this myself, but I HEARD that if you swap your secondary wires to the coil it will start, run, and lose spark at higher RPM's.

Mechanical or electric fuel pump?

brainsboy 03-10-2005 01:32 PM

Electric Fuel pump. The air cleaner is a Holley bee hive style. I was going to adjust them but it got into the 40's last night. I'll probably do it tonight

brainsboy 03-11-2005 07:39 AM

Well I adjusted the valves last night. Set everything to 1/2 turn, took my time and got it right on the money. I started the motor, it really didnt sound as good, but I guess it just may be the design of my exhaust system, so I decieded to try it anyhow.
I set the tach to 5,500 and made 2 passes down my road. I got going about 25mph kept the car in second gear and hit the gas. Before I had time to say "jumpin leap frogs", the shift light came on, and I looked down at a 6000rpm. Turned around and did the same thing this time I pulled a nice 6200rpm.

Thanks for all the suggestions and help. I still have a big lag in the secondarys when they kick in, so I may try a new carb anyhow and see if I can pull up to 6500.

Thanks again everyone

Ben
