Cam swap, spring pressure?

I'm going to swap my Reed solid lifter cam for something a bit milder with hydraulic lifters. will I need to change the valve springs for something lighter?
Using World products iron heads.
Thanks
Simon

Check the mfr recommendations for spring pressures on the new cam and compare that to what you have now if you know what they are. If you don't have that info contact Reed and see what they recommend for the cam you have and compare.
If the existing cam isn't too radical you are probably fine since the new cam is milder but beware if they are heavy springs and the new cam is a flat tappet type you may have break in issues on the new cam.

Thanks, the cam spec card for the old reed cam says seat pressure 130-150lbs, open pressure 330-350lbs, but the new cam http://www.cranecams.com/index.php?s...7K&lvl=2&prt=5 doesn't give any specs for valve springs (and I can't find an email address to ask their tech dept)
