fuel pump eccentric on crate engine
I opened up my 302 crate engine to put a fuel pump eccentric on for the fuel pump and the cam dowel pin is sticking out a little from the cam sprocket. The two piece eccentic can't sit flat and the square tang can't engage the dowel pin hole. What do I need to do now?

Just get a one piece eccentric form Ford.

one piece won't fit, talked with another guy with same engine and he said I would need a shorter pin.

How did this issue with the eccentric resolve? I would like to convert to a mechanical pump from an electric fuel pump, but my crate 302 does not have an eccentric mounted. Thanks, Dave
