GT40 heads. What's the difference?
I've been looking at heads on Ebay to get an idea what they will cost down the road. I see a few different variations of GT40 heads for a 302. Some are called GT40p, and others leave out that designation altogether. What's the difference and do they really flow a lot better than the factory 302 HO heads?
Thanks.

It would appear from the Web Site AFR are far and away the best heads out there. VERY impressive flow numbers starting at .100 lift.

Nevermind65: I've been looking at GT-40 heads, and once I looked at the flow numbers, decided to go Trick Flow or AFR. Not sure which right now. PM me with your email, and I'll send you an Excel file that compares flow numbers.

The GT40P heads were standard on the 5.0 Explorers from 97 to 2000. They shared some design with the iron GT40 but outflow them with smaller valves. and have no emission ports. Also have a revised spark plug angle towards the center of the chamber. The thing to take note of is the area under the curve in their flow. I run them on my Fairlane because they are like me. Cheap, easy, work very well and they are overweight.
