Changing from stock springs & shocks to coil over?

I have a LA Exotic (now caled B&B) with a Mustang II front end and a 351w. The ride is extremely hard and I would like to know if I change it to coil over can I expect a big improvement. Is its a big job to make the change from springs to coil over? Has anyone done this before? Any and all advise is appreciated.

Maybe you can give us more info on your current suspension setup. But in general, I think the coilover systems do a better job and saves weight. As an alternative, you can change the current springs to ones that have a lesser rate. IOW, it may be that the ones that are installed now are too heavy. I think you can get them in different rates. I know that with coilovers, you can get the springs in a whole variety of spring rates. I changed my rear springs from 450 lbs to 375lbs and made a world of difference. I also changed the swaybar bushings to poly all around.

A lot of the impact harshness comes from the shock. Which shocks do you have. No Cobra experience, however I've found that a "sport" Bilstein can ride better than a factory shock, while having greater wheel control.

I have standard Mustang II spings front and rear with Monore shocks. The shocks good like new but are orginal when it was build it 94.
