V belt question
To those of you who may be using 2 V belts on a 289/302 in a FIA type application or in a Mustang (Dave Gagnard??) I have a question and hoppe ypu can save me a little time .Specifically one for just the crank to waterpump as a backup to the longer one for Alternator, waterpump , and crank. What is the part number for the shorter belt. This is for standard diameter OEM pulleys on Crank and Waterpump.
Thanks |
Hey Rick, Just had a thought. Give Lynn Parks a call tomorow. He may be able to help you out.

Rick;
I have no idea, I'm only using one belt, I do not use the crank/water pump only belt on my street car......... Now on the race car I do have the crank/water pump only belt, but I have under drive pulleys........I have a very long old v-belt that I cut some years ago and use to measure belt lenghts on the cars, works everytime..... Sorry I could not offer any help on this one........... David |
May I suggest the rope method to determine the belt length?
Take a piece of rope of suitable diameter ( not string ) and wrap it around the pulleys so it is a closed loop. Then, measure the rope. That is the lenght of the belt. |
Thanks guys.
