coolant volumn ?
 
How much coolant is there in a 351,average size rad and vintage air defroster/heater core ? I was planing on using deionized water and water wetter but dont know how much to buy . any help? Thnks. Peter.

Between 2-3 gallons should fill your system.

Be sure to change it out or add Antifreeze in your local when the seasons change. BRRRR.......Look up "Cold" in the dictionary and there is a picture of a "Truckee City Limits Sign"!

DI water is a mistake. It is very corrosive to metals. That is why it is used in silcon wafer fabs to pre-etch and clean all trace metals from the wafers.


Distilled is OK.

Yes, distilled water. I use the same formula and throw a can of lube/anit corrosion stuff in just to make me feel better. Clean as a whistle even with an iron block, copper heater core and aluminum radiator even after almost two years.

thanks, distiled water and water wetter it is!2/3 gallons,and it will be drained every fall. ah ,Truckee lowest average temp. in the country and the only cobra in california that needs a heater/defroster.
