302, 347, 371, 427 or 460 cid Windsors. |
Everytime I fire up the 418 Stroker built by Eric at Performance Engineering, I realize what a good choice I made. Can't imagine anything better.....I'm sure those other guys build good to equal as well, but better ???? Doubtful.
Can't go wrong with Eric. Life is good now! Next on the list is 3" internal exhaust to let that beast breathe. |
just for your input, my 302 has around 350HP, I do believe that I could burn the tires completely off the car if I held it down long enough, the bigger cubes and HP will not help you any on a street machine, if you are going to race the car, then maybe you will need the extra power, if you are building a street car then you should consider a 302, or 347 stroker, the Engine Factory builds a very strong motor

If you don't have a relationship with a builder, then I would suggest Keith Craft. He is a huge supporter of this forum and our hobby. His work is as good as it gets and he is a super guy. I really think we need to support those that support us and Keith has always done that.
|
If your engine builder criteria is whether or not he advertises (supports) this forum, then you must choose Southern Automotive....
Ooops, spoke too soon, I just noticed Keith's banner ad at the top of the page. He is not on the list of forum advertisers for some reason... |
I have heard great things about them as well. I am confident either will build an awesome motor and both are an asset to our hobby. I just wanted to say "support the guys that support us". :D
|
you will not go wrong with CHP either......actually just got mine yesterday..............really nice.......and after they run it.......comes with a 2 year guaranty...............
fred.........BTW they are all pretty good. |
Thanks guys.

Anybody hear anything bad about Jon Barrett engines? They seem to come polished with a lot extras and a good price for a 427W. I'm aslo searching but can't make up my mind. The problem is the cost of the extras: pullies, pumps, ... it dramatically changes the cost. If an engine comes with them then that is one more thing I don't need to fool with tracking down parts that fit.
