Identifing 351W engines and heads
Can anyone direct me to a site to determine exactly what year engine I have. Bought a used LAE...previous owner wasnt sure of what engine was used.

There's a cast number on the block and heads that should start with a letter....can you find those?
i.e. C7ME-A or C5AE-A, etc.... If I remember correctly, it's under the oil filter on a Windsor block. |
It is over were the starter mounts. there is a little smooth flat area right above the starter.

If your 351W engine number starts with a C followed by a number e.g., C9xxxxx, it's a 1969 block, C8xxxx is a 1968 block etc. If the ID number starts with a D4, it's a 1974 block. C=60's blocks. D=70's blocks, etc. Number after the letter indicates the exact year in that decade.
