289 VIN #'s

I am putting the HORSEpower before the cart. I haven't made a decision on which kit to buy, but I know which motor I want. What #'s should I be looking for on a 289k hi-po out of a 66 Mustang? Is that still an alternator? Any other things I should ask before purchase? It is said to be running in good condition. Of course it will be tore down, and rebuilt. Also what would be a fair price for this motor?

C5AE-(6015)E would be the later 1965-1967 six bolt bellhousing HiPo block.
I have one for sale in the parts classifieds if you are interested.
