Weight of existing steel billet flywheel?
I plan to swap my existing Tremec trans for the TKO 600 RR. While in there, I thought I might swap the existing steel billet flywheel for a lighter aluminum billet one. I do not know the weight of my existing flywheel. Does anyone know the weight of the steel billet flywheel used on the 351W FMS crate engine, part number M-6007-A351? I know it has 157 teeth and likely uses a 10.5 inch clutch but I am not sure.

I can't give you any weights for a 351, but you will like the change over from steel to aluminum. I dumped my steel FW and installed an aluminum one, its is really sweet the way the engine revs up in a much quicker manner. You can really feel the response time when you give it some throttle. These little cars don't need those big 30 lb. FW's due to the car being so light, that big inertia build up to get the car rolling just isn't needed.

The steel billet flywheels usually run about 30 pounds give or take a couple of pounds, aluminum flywheels usually go from 12 to 15 pounds depending on the brand.......................
