Distributor Rust
1 Attachment(s)
Newby to this Cobra sickness. I have loved them since I was a kid. That's been awhile ago.
I recently bought this Cobra and I am going through it part by part to be sure everything is in good shape. I pulled the distributor cap and this is what I found. I hope the picture comes out (my first try). Just wondered if I should worry about it? The engine is a 1989 302HO with a little over 14,000 miles on it. This looks like the stock distributor that came with it. I pulled a plug and it looked great (tan). If it is a problem, what distributor would you reccomend? Thanks, Steve |
distributors
I like stock distributors but most like MSD. It's hard to tell from the pic, but you could clean it up and run it. The experts claim that moisture it the problem. We have used dielectric grease to seal the cap to distributor base. Do you run a high output coil?
