Cleveland vs Windsor

Why not buy a 351 W block and install a Cleveland style crank (2 3/4" mains). You have the best of both worlds. Lot of cheap parts for the Windsor and the high rpm capable of the Cleveland. They are not the same motor and if you want a Cleveland motor then a Windsor will not do. But if you want the performance of the Cleveland but not the cost and problems, Windsor is the way to go. You need to buy the FMS spacer kit ($70) and get the block line bored. Drop in the crank (408 stroker kit is very nice), rods, pistons, bolt on some good heads, intake and all that stuff that it takes to make a motor run. Bad to the bone!

imho

What kind of Cleveland are you looking for? rebuildable core, running motor? I have a friend who is a Ford mechanic that has a complete runing Cleveland for sale. I will have to check with Eddie on the details.

I have about a half dozen, including a CJ 4 bolt engine. I have a complete '72-73( I'd have to check the #'s) 2V Cleveland that was running when I pulled it about a year ago and has been sitting in the shop since. I'd take $100 for it. I can also supply a '70,'71 and '72 casting numbered heads/block if titling requires it.

i have a cleveland sitting in a mustang i'd be willing to sell, can hear it run. previous owner spent approx. 11,000 having it built by anderson racing inc in grandview, mo. 2 bbl heads, 650 carb., gear driven cam, and whatever else. i don't have the receipts but did look at them. bolted to 5 spd tremec with scattershield. low time, prob. less than 5,000 mi. dynod at 500 hp, saw the sheet on this too but don't have it. runs and sounds real good on pump gas. buy the whole car drive away and save yourself some money. also have mucho 400, 351c, 351w, 302 parts sitting around anyone interested. kansas city area. mail at mj-brooksathotmaildotcom.

Try Tuff Dawg (D&J Performance Engines) based in Phoenix Arizona. I have just ordered mine. So far they have been great to deal with. They have an ebay shop with impressive feedback. However I didn't go the ebay route.
