Ford 4.6 or 5.4

Any one using a modular 4.6 or 5.4 engine in their cobra's? I have found a great deal on a complete engine and 6-speed transmission with computer out of a 2004 cobra with really low miles on drivetrain. I would love the put a new "Cobra" engine in a Cobra. Thanks for your input

You need to talk to Sergio he has done it with 03 cobra in FFR, and has helped others check out his build site.http://www.cobra4me.com/

Me I'm only using the Mark VIII version in my scratchbuild. They are very large engines and won't fit in just any car. I had to build my car around it.

Mine has the basic 03 Cobra engine except for the blower, block and fuel system. I swapped out the Eaton for a Whipple and used an aftermarket Aluminum block from Sean Hyland. The fuel system uses dual Ford GT pumps and 60# Mototrons with a custom fuel curve.

With the as delivered top pulley from Whipple and a stock lower pulley you engine will produce somewhere north of 600 FWHP and instantaneous maximum torque from about 2000 rpm to redline. BTW instantaneous maximum torque will be 550 lbs-ft sometimes a little more.:D

The 5.4 will probably not fit the engine bay. The 4.6 already uses up essentially the entire bay.

See Sergio's modular site => http://cobra4me.com/ for more info on the modular engine alternative.
