Intake Manifold Recommendations

I am currently running a Ford Motorsports dual plane intake on my 351W. I have a 230 deg. retro roller hydrualic cam. My dyno results show the torque is falling off sharply at 5000 with peak power at 5300-5500.

I was thinking about trying out an Edelbrock performer RPM to possibly open up the top end to 5800-6000 rpm.

Do any of you small block folks have any experience with either of these manifolds or other similar manifolds for the windsor?

Victor Jr is my advice.

I would think the Performer RPM would be a good choice. I have a JR on my track engine and it really works best after 3,000 rpms. If I converted my engine to mostly street driving I would switch to a dual plane.

Most of my seat time is on the road course. With my street tires the minimum engine speed is 2200 rpm but mostly 2700 to 5300 rpm. Slicks should raise this range.

I am not sure I have hood clearance for the victor Jr. If I were to use a single plane that would be the first one to try for sure.

The Victo Jr. and the RPM Air Gap have the same height - I think. All the measurements can be found on Edelbrock's website. Go with the Air Gap if you can fit it. Makes good low end / medium torque and can hang with a Victor Jr. up to 6500 rpm on most 400 -450 HP 351W's

For a 230 roller, that is early. Are you running stock heads? If so, that would explain a lot. As for your question, performer RPM. But with stock heads... doubt it would help much over what you have.

Edit... I meant RPM air gap!

Is it a stock bore / stroke 351w? What heads do you have? What are your HP & TQ figures?

The Vic jr. is designed to make power from 3500-7500, and the RPM and RPM Air Gap are in the 1500-6500 range.
If you have a stock 351w with stock heads, then I would say RPM or RPM air gap. Unless you have a pretty strong 351w or a stroker (392, 408, 418, etc) with good flowing heads, then you probably aren't making enough power in the higher rpm range to make good use of a Vic jr intake.

Just my humble opinion.....

I'm running the Victor Jr. on the 331 in my GT40. Works well on the street and great on the track.:3DSMILE:

Victor, Jr. works well on my 342, but it definitely likes things best above 3000 rpm.
