I have an oportunity to pick up a 351 Cleveland at a very reasonable price. Any downsides to the Cleveland vs the Windsor?

I own Clevelands and like them, but the aftermarket parts supply for the Windsor is far better. I've never had one blow or unusual failures of any kind.
I would point out however, that 1974 was the last year of the Cleveland and anything later than that will be a 351M. Many people that aren't fully aware mistake the M for a Cleveland because they use the same type heads, although the Cleveland is more compact and easier to fit. It also uses standard SBF mounts and bellhousing pattern which makes it and easy swap for a Windsor.

All the serious Cleveland development has been done down here in Australia. We had the 351 Cleveland right up till 1985. We have a very healthy aftermarket for these motors. Have a look at CHI and the Aluminium head and manifold combinations they make. 351 Clevelands are making some serious numbers down here.

Cheers
