Best engine builder in San Diego?

Well, its time to upgrade the old 351W in my Backdraft. The engine is fine, but could use about 100 more HP! So, I want to take it locally (in San Diego) to someone with tons of Ford small block knowledge and ability. I am hoping someone out there can recommend a shop/individual who can accomplish what I want, in a decent timeframe.

If you have personal knowledge of a top engine builder, please let me know.

Thanks,

SkipB

Skip. I see no-one has responded. I am a very experienced engine builder, although I have not tapped the San Diego market yet. I have always done my own engine work and used to be one of the top V8 engine builders in Johannesburg for the Cobra community. I did build a lot of Windsors that made really decent power and had no problems.I do not have a retail shop right now but have all the tools etc at my home.
Send me a message if you are enterested in my help.

Skip I would recommend Smokey's up in Oceanside but he's not taking on much work anymore as he's getting up there in age. Kieth at AutoPower & Machine is just down the road from Smokey by the 101 Cafe and worked with Smokey for a number of years. He's honest and won't spend your money needlessly.

Guys,

Thanks for the replies. I've been out of town alot and didn't take the laptop. So, sorry for the late response. I am going to have to decide if I want to upgrade this engine, buy a new one, or believe it or not sell the car. My wife is really on me to get something she will enjoy riding in. I haven't listened for the last 3 years, but maybe I should?

Sell the car, get a nice mini van, talk to other guys about your feelings and start going to chick movies.

NOT!

I bought the car not caring whether or not my wife would enjoy it.

She tolerates it because she knows I love it and I'll take off without her.

She has her own luxury car but wraps up in a hat and jacket to cruise the beach with me.

And I would do the same for her, maybe!
