Canton, but I was advised by the engine builder (Performance engineering) not to run the oil cooler on my 418 Windsor unless I was going to track the car.

I also have the Canton, it was recommended to me and i can't comment on it's "performance". It fits though.

I also have an Armando's pan, but it's the GT40 style. My oil temp dropped by almost 20 degrees when I switched from a Canton rear sump RR pan to the GT40 style front sump, with no other changes.

Ran into issue with the FORD BOSS 302 block (new one) and my 1970 style BOSS302 oil pan and timing cover combo. Problem --no dipstick boss in F6 style timing cover.

--engine in car, all together,.ugh!!!

--the modern boss 302 block has a dipstick tube boss in the drivers side of the block, the boss302 (repro) pan has a front sump./ they dont line up.

I am running an oil cooler, and this is a street car so i think i will go with a rear sump Fox style pan for now and get it on the street.

also saving about $400 in the process.

Canton 680-S (14 ga.) 9 Quart.
Remote oil filter, Oil Cooler with a thermostat.

Caprimaniac 09-26-2008 12:41 AM

Refabricated Fox rear sump; hump taken closer to crank (actually only 2-5mm clearance for my stroker crank) and forward to clear steering and rear kick-out to both sides w/ trap doors. Crank scraper welded to bottom of pan. 7 qtrs.+.

Large grille-mounted oil cooler w/ thermostat take-off and an-10 hoses.

"Warm" engine at 80 centigrades oil temp. runs cooler in cold weather (unfortunately...).

For street & track.

Steve

Not a problem, remove the timing cover, drill and tap for a compression fitting and make you own tube. Actually the easiest solution is to remember to tell Armando that you need a dipstick bung in the front sump.

Wow! Rick, you either have a very understanding wife to allow you to build your motor in the dining room or have a very interestingly decorated garage/work shop **)

Happy Friday,
