Spark Plug Recommendation
Would appreciate spark plug recommendations for my 347 stoker (302 block). I plan to add a MSD (6AL) next month and will use Ford Racing 9 mm wires. I do not race/autocross, just cruising.

Accel #416 for aluminum, 276 for iron.

I use standard Autolites, 3924. Cheap, easy to come by, dead on relaiable. And <$2 each.
There's no magic in a spark plug.

Plugs
I bought the car second hand and from a guy who had very little in the way of engine build documentation. To compound the issue I called the builder and he could only confirm that the 347 stroker had oil rings that did not intrude into the wrist pin area (a problem on earlier 347s). The good news is I put about 1300 miles on the engine and it does not leak or burn a drop of oil and makes good power. Overall, I like the car and engine, I just do not want to replace everything that originally came with the car in 2004. It is real difficult to upgrade when you do not know what you have. Not sure what heads are on it, wonder if there is a common area where they may have a number or other identifying marks?

The 3924 Autolite spark plugs are listed as the standard spec for my Roush 402, but the plugs that were installed when I took delivery are Motorcraft AGSP32C's.
I was planning on changing the plugs on my car this spring and bought the 3924's before realizing they had installed Motorcraft plugs. I now have a set of both (Motorcraft and Autolite). I'll probably just use the Motorcraft plugs. |

AGSP and 3924 are the same plug. One is Motorcraft, the other is Autolite. They are interchangable.

I just pulled Autolite plugs from my 347 (removed headers). Where the porcelan(sp?) was exposed - not covered with the plug wire, the plugs are black. Every plug is black all the way around 360^. At first I thought maybe they were leaking combustion, but it will not wipe off. Not sure what to make of it. Anyone else ever have this happen?
I think I will be putting motorcraft back in.

Mine look that way on my FE427 and on my sb. They still run like stripped A$$ Apes! :)

Be careful about installing the plugs, use a torque wrench. 10 to 15 Ft-Lbs I would imagine. Use a no-bind compound made for plugs.
The last Roush SB engine I looked at had Motorcraft SP-447 (AGSF32C) plugs.
