I need a little 351 water pump help...
Does anyone know of a model 351 that uses the late model timing cover with a standard rotation water pump? Just trying to not completely dis-assemble the front of my engine to replace the timing cover or hang an ugly factory type serpentine bracket set up.
Thanks, Clois Harlan |
Water Pump
Clois I don't think there is any easy way out. The front cover will have to be changed out to be able to use a compatable V belt type waterpump. The alternative is to have your own pulleys made (shallow) and then attempt to line everything up.

I was afraid that was going to be the case. Very poor planning on my part!

Why the username change Clois?

I didn't want to change my password and user name. I was having a brain fart and couldn't remember what my new password was. Once I get back to work I will email my new password home and after that when you see BACobra that will be my wife instead of her masking herself as me. She usually only gets on her around time for Run n Gun.

If you get a modern 351W waterpump from motorcraft, the rear sheetmetal panel on the waterpump, -- should have round holes and not U shaped.
--- this allows use of a std rotation pump with a serpentine TC with no fuel pump boss. worked on my FRPP boss setup in my SPF. -- was running EFI and didnt want the FP boss / cover on the TC. --Steve |
