Looking for Ford Small Block Forum
What's the most active/best forum discussing Ford small blocks. I'm looking for discussions on stroker builds and carbureted engines.
Thanks. |
I think you are there. I just finished a 408 stroker build (carburated) that as soon as I change out my timing cover I will have it at the dyno shop. Expecting about 500 hp Thanks to Keith Crafts mastery on the heads and Stanley Morton precision machinig on the block.

You can also go to fordmuscle.com. They have stroker forums there as well.

Thanks guys.

This and the other Cobra forum are probably the most active. Between the two boards, there are thousands of people building mostly small block Fords. If you're going to buiuld a Cobra, most people want outragous power. That usually means a stroker.
Fordmuscle is a good one, more technical but not as active. The Mustang forums are probably not that good for you. Most of the conversations are about asthetics. When they do talk engines, it's usually mod motors. |
You have arrived.

Hardcore50.com is good...not as good as it used to be but it still has a fair number of really good engine builders that log on.

This site is probably the best there is but I found additional info here:

Hi Paul

I've had some very good input from: http://www.fordmuscle.com/forums/ They have a stroker forum there and there is a lot of input from builders both professional and good experienced private ones. Also as mentioned by someone else here, the small block tech forum is goos as well. But I must agree as other have said that the small block forum here is THE best source you could ever find. You are of course always welcome to come over and see what I'm up to at any point as well. We can always learn a lot by working on or just looking at mine at any point in the build that interest you in particular. Talk to me this Sunday about any of this when we have our soon to be famous North Bay Cobras brunch over in Sonoma. See you then I hope. Don |
Don,
Good to hear your build is progressing. I look forward to talking about it tomorrow at breakfast. Your build is very much along the lines of what I would like to do. My query about forums is in the interest of getting as educated as I can by reading up on what people have built. Club Cobra and the other forums are a great resouce. People are so helpful. |
302 to 351 swap
I presently have a 306 SBF in my Cobra. I would like to swap in a 351 based engine. Will my present Headers and Sidepipes work?
|
If you replace a SBF [8.2"] block with a 351w [9.48"] Block, the exhausts while fitting the cyl heads will move both upward and outboard by 0.910" per side.
