302 starts then dies immediately

Hello all,

I'm new here and hope to use this site all the time. What i have is a FFR kit with a 302 out of a 89 mustang. I put on a edelbrock card and have a msd dist and coil. I am also running a blue holley electric fuel pump. My ride was running great and then I had to leave the country for a while on biz. When I got back, the cobra would fire up, then immediately die. Here is what i have tried to fix, but nothing is working.

-i rebuilt the carb (1st thing i tried)
-replaced the fuel pump
-tested electric choke
-cleaned all fuel filters

At first, the engine would sputter before it died, now it just dies. I know i am getting gas. Acts as if it getting flodded. I have the fuel regulated to 6 psi. Can it be electrical?

It's killing me, want to take it out.

Thanks for the help.

Sounds electrical. Check the ignition switch. It sounds like when it is in the start position it has the ignition system powered up but when you release the key and it returns to the run position the ignition system loses power and you get no fire to the plugs. Alternatively, if you have a ballast resistor in the ignition primary side, you may have a loose connection on one of the wires connected the resistor.
