new member, looking to meet cobra owners
Hello So Cal Members,
Im in Ventura and i'm at the VERY beginning of the process of building a cobra.. The research phase. In the general introduction forum people recommended that I look for other cobra owners local or semi local. Do you all have semi regular get togethers? are there southern california clubs and do they have websites? matthew |
Tri-County Cobra's meet every eight weeks in Oxnard for lunch and a drive up the coast. Usually 20-30 cobra's show up. Contact John Waiss for more information: TriCountyCobras@Gmail.com

Sunday mornings in Calabasas, Valley Circle off-ramp of the 101 freeway, about 6-10 Cobras show up; most of them are replicas, but an original Cobra pops in every few weeks or so.
Also, at the Early Rodders get-together in La Canada on Saturday morns, there are usually 6-10 Cobras, with as many as SIX Original Cobras, but usually 2-3. |
Wow, that was fast!
Thank you very much! I'll E-mail shortly. I work in Oxnard so thats fantastic. |
The Ventura Tri-County meet-up is a lunch gig, but La Canada and Valley Circle requires that you get up EARLY on the weekend!!! lol !!!

the Calabasas meet is good every Sunday, but it's particularly well attended on the last Sunday of each month. You can also check out this website for other car (not necessairly cobra) events.

are you looking to buy or build ............
|
Im looking to build .. why?
Also, i've never been to car meets before. Is it a faux paux to go to one if you dont currently own a vehical? i.e. is it acceptable to come stare at everyones car and ask a bagillion questions? matt |
nothing better than a new guy showing up and asking a lot of questions. it gives us a kind of validation we don't get from each other

Some people look for the instant gratifaction of just buying a Cobra and being able to jump in and drive and some people just dont have the ability to build or the room or whatever.........there is a certain pride factor when you can tell someone "yeah i built in my garage". There a lot of "KIT" manufacturers ot there that put out a great product but be warned "no 2 kits are the same"they may look like each other but thats as far as i goes,if you are looking for a suggestion i would try Shell Valley Custom Wheels 1-888-46-0900 ask for Travis and get an info pack and look it over they will work with you if you want to start with a frame or a complete kit........and tell them i sent you.......
