Our First Meet (SOCO)
For those present and future Cobra owners in the Southern Oregon area, there are several of us planning our first time meet in the Medford area.
At this juncture, the date will be Saturday, May 19th. The purpose of SOCO is to get acquainted with the present and future Cobra owners in this area. For those who would like to drive down to this area you are very welcome. For the record, I'm a new Cobra owner and haven't personally met anyone so we're all starting out as strangers. If anyone at the meeting wants to discuss future activities, that's terrific. Unless the group decides otherwise, the plan is to stay informal with the only rules being common interest and friendship. No dues, officers or committees. As we grow, we'll see how that works. We'll need a common place to post our messages (Which is this forum) and I'll handle the contact list regarding events. If you're interested in getting in on the ground floor of a growing common interest friendship, let us know...We'll add your name to the contact list for whatever activities we plan. Thanks, Ivan |
Hi Ivan,
I will be at the WSCB on that weekend so I won't be able to attend. Dick |
Hi Dick,
If WSCB makes it difficult for you and perhaps others to get to the meet, maybe it can be moved to the following week (5/26) I'll let you know after I check with Pat since it's his pizza place that we are all supposed to meet. Ivan |
First fire-up and test runs for my Cobra were at my brother's place located between Medford & Klamath. As soon as we got the body on we did an autocross the next day in Medford, then pulled the trans to fix the pilot bushing, then hit the road the next day for a "break-in" trip to Atlanta. Here are some videos of the first time the Cobra hit the road.

Hi Mike,
Grants Pass is located just North of Medford...We like the area too. We moved here from Eastern Tennessee and still miss the landscape and the people...(The winters were starting to beat us up so we looked for a more temperate climate) We took a lot of tours through the Smoky Mtns, the surrounding states and were always in the Dollywood parade. Great times. The video of the trip with your brother is powerful...Thanks for the links. Regards, Ivan (Formerly know as Ah-Vin) |
I was in Grant's Pass at the Ford Dealership the night before the autocross tracking down dowel pins for the clutch/flywheel. Seemed like a quant little town!

Ivan,
I think I'm the only one from this area going to the WSCB, so I guess you should proceed with the meeting. Dick |
Ivan:
I'll be gone on the 19th also. David |
Hi David,
Appreciate the feedback...Please keep an eye on the SOCO forum for future meets and events. Hope to see you soon... Ivan |

I owe you a thanks for pitching in and finding all those Cobra people. I think I should mention that our first meeting will be this Saturday (5/19) around 11 - 11:30 AM at Angelo's Pizza in Medford. (Directions can be found on Google) Cobra owners or prospectives are more than welcome to drop by and say hello. As I said before, none of us has met yet...Just e-mails. If anyone in the group feels up to it, we might have time for a short ride around the area. If not, we'll be making new friends. Hope to see you there, Ivan |

Have fun at WSCB...Did you have to make any more changes to get the top time at the last auto-cross or did you just bury the loud pedal deeper? Ivan |
| All times are GMT -7. The time now is 08:26 AM. |
