FYI...Broken Stud

Hi Gang,
I have a 342RE Roush motor w/ fuel injection.

The air filter system consists of an adapter that screws into the throttle body then a long screw goes down thru the filter and screws into the throttle body.

The stud in the throttle body broke.

When I removed the broken end, I noticed that it was a cast aluminum piece not a machined billet.

I've been talking with Roush engine department people. They told me that they got the part from a vendor but will replace the adapter with one made of machined steel OR they will manufacture a long screw and eliminate the adapter.

They said that my adapter was "The first one they have seen that broke."
(Hmmmm)

I'm posting this just in case you have a similar adapter on your system.

Have a happy 4th!
Regards, Ivan
