Malicious file causing CC to be blocked in Iraq
 
Brent and crew...

Just got a note from a customer of ours in Iraq (and a ClubCobra member). He cannot gain access to ClubCobra anymore (since the holidays). Here are the details why:

Sir,

The following user, ************, was detected downloading a potentially malicious image file (11078cammerribsinsoblock.highlightedjpg.jpg) from a domestic http host. Please check the system for the presence of the file and verify whether Anti-Virus detected and quarantined/deleted the file.

If AV did not delete the file, please check the system for signs of infection. If found to be infected, the system must be rebuilt in accordance with AR 25-2, par. 4-23. Please report all findings to the RCERT-CONUS.
Any ideas?

Nothing sinister...but I think I understand the problem.

That URL was one of a thumbnail...that probably appeared in the random pics on the home page.

It had a funky file name...( with double-dots). The image was good, but the thumbnail was malformed.

It was a pic from 2002, of a S/O block.

I just deleted the pic.

Cash...reply to him and ask if he is OK now...ask him to clear his cache files (temporary internet files in the browser)
