Swapping position of Brake & Turn Signal Lights
Has anyone swapped the position of the rear tail lights on their Superformance?
A local Cobra club member was following me the other day and commented that my signal lights were significantly brighter than the brake lights. I decided to swap them today (brake in upper socket and turn signal in lower) and the brake lights seem to be much brighter and more effective.
BTW - I'm running the SuperBrightLeds for both the brake lights and turn signal/running lights.

The brake/park light bulb is a double filamet bulb and the brake filament is brighter than the side light one ( in the same bulb) If you switch the fittins you still have the same problem!**)

I actually swapped the whole socket/unit so the brake light is now on top. The brake/running light in the top socket is now more visible and brighter. For some reason, the brightness of the turn signal in the lower socket seems to be on par with the standard configuration. |

I made that switch too. Also using Superbrights. No more complaints from the rest of the club when they follow me. |

Doug, they are brighter on the top. if you look at the lens configuration , the top lens flutes promote a better light pattern. its always better to have others see you stop, then to tell them your turning.. on the original Lucas light, the bottom of the light was just a reflector and the light only had one bulb.

Agree. I also still use hand signals (no, not the one finger salute) , so people behind me probably think I'm some sort of nut. :3DSMILE: |
Flipping the lenses so that the circular parttern in the taillight lens is on top increases the visibility from the rear...
