spf removal of gas cap
 
anyone remove their gas cap on their spf? i know there are the flat head screws all around it, is that all that is holding the cap onto the body? would like to remove it but dont want to cause any damage.
any info on this would be great

Yes, the screws on the top hold the gas caps top assembly in place. They connect to a common threaded ring below the fiberglass. You'll also need to disconnect the fuel tanks rubber hose below. As always, be extra careful with so much fuel in the gas tank exposed to the air with the filler assembly removed. I recommend working outside and not in a garage.
Be sure to seal the cap assembly base ring to the body with some clear silicone or water trapped in the depression around the filler will flow into the trunk. Put a dab of silicone on the screw threads too when reinstalling to make them water tight.
