Went to Carlisle yesterday and saw the car and spoke to the people who designed and built it. All I can say is wow. Mr. Henry and his family were extremely cordial and spent over an hour answering all my questions. I am fairly young for the Cobra scene and am often disregarded by many manufacturers do to my age (i.e. perceived lack of money) it was extremely refreshing to find someone willing to take the time to explain there product to me. Suffice it to say I will be a Riverside Racers customer Shortly. Thanks, Ross and Roy for building this car.

Hi Catfish

Did they have both their models at the show? Pls post any pics you might have??
I have spoken to Ross on the phone and have found him incredibly helpful and knowledgable on the 289 cobras

catfish21 05-23-2010 03:16 PM

Lucia 289,
They only had the one car at the show, and not much else (all of there shirts, pamphlets etc. were confiscated at the U.S. Canada border.) It was a fia usrrc hybrid of sorts as it had and some fia details, and some usrrc details. I can tell you the car is amazing. The paint was gorgeous the body strait and the little things done right. I will post some pics as soon as I can figure out how. They are still working out some price details but according to Ross the car will be about 50,000 U.S. sold as a roller much like the Superformance cars. There may also be an aluminum version available for those who want it and can afford it.

Later,
Catfish

Go for it Catfish

All I can say is, and I have not seen the car in person, buy, buy, buy. The car is amazing, and the factory that builds the cars is nothing but fantastic quality engineering. You will not go wrong here. The fact that you are young has no bearing on qualifications to make you a buyer. The fact that you can tell the quality of this beast is evidence enough that you should get it.

Heck, I wish the originals were as good as this one, other than history and value in today's dollars, this one has them beat.

Thanks for the Pics Catfish , I’m sure more will posted of the weekend when everyone gets back.
The car certainly looks great, according to their website this was the cars debut so you would have been one of the lucky few who has seen the car in the flesh.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: The car looks awesome!! Wish I were able to add it to my collection of toys.

I met Ross at the NE Regional SAAC event last month and had a chance to peruse this car and it's gorgeous. As a 6'2" person with long legs, I found it to be very comfortable behind the wheel. Very high quality, as I was accustomed to with SPF products, being as an Ex SPF dealer. Was great following Ross on our 3 1/2 driving cruise, the car looks fantastic on the road.

Wonderful car, really well done, looks terrific. I'm a bit embarrased to point out it's not as accurate as the first post led me to believe. Round tube frame and correct springs? Check! Hmmm, that covers two major components at least. I'm not sure how that raises the bar...

Riverside racer,

Can we assume that Superformance will be your distributor?
When can we see one at Hillbank?
Don't tell me it was there and left already

bdeutsch 11-12-2010 12:30 PM

Funny you should ask that question as I just communicated today regarding same topic with friends @ Hillbank. Seems that they have only the one car in circulation at the moment to show prospective buyers; this being production car #1. If you happen to be located near an area where car will be shown, life is good. If not, not so much.

I will be in LA on business next week and towards the end of the week, will be attending Preview Night of the LA Auto Show. Wanted to take advantage of the trip to see/sit in the MkII at their Irvine location. Unfortunately car is on the road and will not be in SoCal at this time. Bummer.

Been to Hillbank and now safely back in my store. We have more in a container on the water right now, a pretty red FIA for one.

Car number one is currently on my lift undergoing a complete check over and evaluation. We are working on the final shock and spring spec's as well as some upgrades that the factory has on the line now (more original type air ducts for the cockpit, reshaped front brake ducts, etc.) to further improve the product.

Most everyone who has seen/sat/driven the car has been pleased.
And wait until you see the 289 street car...............

Riverside racer 11-12-2010 04:38 PM

Rod and Bob
Superformance is the distributor and there is only one presently in the USA.Once Rick and his crew are finished the upgrades it will probaly head back For Barret Jackson but Lances fia is nearly complete as is Rods from Autohaus.
So there will be one on the East and West Coast for customers to evaluate before Xmas.
Please make the effort to test drive one. They really are fun.
Please feel free to contact me at anytime if you have any questions

care to share your "accurate" knowledge with me please?

Excaliber 11-13-2010 06:29 AM

No,,, I don't think this is the time or place to get into that discussion. This thread is about a celebration of new product, a very nice one. Critique can wait. :)

Well said Sir

Mark IV,

Can you give more details on the 289 Street Car? Are we talking an accurate 289 slabside with original frame & suspension? I may have just died and gone to heaven.

Kevin
