glove box door

I would like to buy a spare glove box door for my superformance MKIII, have Carroll Shelby sign it and put it away for later.

Any club cobra sponsors sell a glove box door that is an exact duplicate of the superformance glove box door?

Bob

Try Hillbanks @ 888-445-5226 or Olthoff Racing @ 704-647-9924

I'm guessing that the only duplicate glove box you'll fine will be sold by Hillbank. I think it's going to be $250 +...add $250 for the signature and that's a pricey memento.

Finish Line Accessories sell a glove box for $195.

I did exactly what you are indicating. I bought my spare GB door from SPF through a dealer (then it was Dynamic Motorsports in Ross, OH). You should be able to order one through any SPF dealer. As others have said, it ain't cheap.

Yep, I wanted to do the same thing but 500 bucks is a little much for a signature IMO. The signature on the glovebox in my car is more than 6 years old and looks like it was just signed. I am careful when I wipe down the dash.

Yes – it is a lot of money for a signature. My wife is pushing it because it goes to the Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation. I guess I need to look into the details of that.

Hold on That will bring out the haters

I sprayed a little semi-gloss clear acrylic over mine. Stuff you can find in any art store or home improvement one. It will last forever and looks great.

Blas 09-14-2010 07:54 AM

So how do you prove it's a real and not a replica signature?
I know some people have a photo taken at a live signing....
There's got to be a lot of "do-it-yourself" signatures out there....

Spoooky 09-14-2010 09:30 AM

Comes with a certificate of authenticity when you send them out.

Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation...
Is it time to review that can of worms again? :)

Voyager 09-14-2010 01:21 PM

Did a search on this site. Has given me pause.

Buy the box and the signature because that is what you want, that should be enough. If the money goes to a good cause, that's cool, but it's totally secondary in my opinion.

JWilly 09-14-2010 03:21 PM

Sorry to be ignorant but I have seen the occasional statement that implies the CS Children's Foundation is not exactly on the up and up. I was at the CS World HQ's in Las Vegas earlier this summer and they stated that the Children's Foundation would now include helping young adults as well as children. That's all I have seen or heard. What is the problem that I am unaware of?

Excaliber 09-14-2010 03:44 PM

Last I heard the "foundation", if we can call it that, was socking away enough money to carry itself well into the future. That was the primary reason, it seems there has not been a lot done in the past in terms of helping folks as much as one might expect from a charity organization. I wish them well and good luck in the endeavor to achieve self sufficiency for the long haul.

The charity has been steeped in controversy for many many years. But then again, when Shelby is involved, thats not really big news, it's par for the course! :)

I ordered a model Cobra from Shelby (same color as my SPF) and had him sign the hood of the model. They only charged me $100.00 for the signature on top of the cost for the model. I wanted another signature from him, but did not want another glovebox door signed. This was a good alternative for me.

Glovebox Door

I did the exact same thing also for #1691. I ordered mine straight from the Superformance factory. The match is perfect to the dash. Then sent it with my money to Shelby for signing. Although it cost a lot of money, when i got it back it was well worth it. Just remember, when he's gone, he's gone!
