Looks like a real nice car, but...

I don't see a dual quad 427 motor on Roush's website...

Hey, maybe the carbs were changed out. I would check this out real good. If this is not really a Roush motor I would walk. Wouldn't believe anything after that.

Low mileage... Like someone said, it is real easy to disconnect the speedo. Also like someone said, maybe that is the mileage after the speedo was changed.

At this point, I am not sure a car that has sat around since 2007 is a positive feature. A well maintained example that has been sorted and bulletproof is worth plenty. Mine has 18,787 miles on it. Wish it had more. I put on as many as I have time for.

You can contact Roush via telephone 800-597-6874 (http://www.roushperformance.com/) and they can tell you about the engine. Ask for the engine department. They keep records about the engines they build. They'll ask you for the engine #. Example, mine is #141. If the engine has the Roush crome valve covers, the number will be on the valve covers. I have a Roush 427R in my Superformance. Since I'm the second owner of the car, I had questions regarding the engine before and after purchasing the car.

well, a couple things.

I checked with roush, and they have the build sheet for the motor. It was indeed a polished 427r with optional dual 4 barrel carbs. The 200 miles looks to be real, as we put the car up on the lift and it was spotless on the bottom. All the original stickers are still on the pumpkin, bell housing and transmission. No drips or dirt or water spots, just a car that sat in a garage and was never used. The autometer gauges were put in from day one, as per the original build sheet.

All is good, but the trunk needs a slight adjustment, the stripes don't line up perfectly.

Papers signed, check is dropped off, car get's picked up tomorrow. Woohooo! got a great deal to boot.

First 1000 miles in this type of aircraft is to be handled very carefully.

These things are wicked fast , twitchy ( and a lot of fun ) and will sneak up on you and bite you hard, if you dont respect them , they will smoke you.

We did build that car back in 07, GREAT setup. That was just the way we finished it, Autometers, 17" Wheels, Dual Quads Ext. A guy called up one night sitting at the airport reading the dupont registy and picked up the phone and bought it. He had never looked at a SPF nor intended to buy one. I tried to call him last week and never received a call back. I would imagine it was not what he thought and traded it for something else. Enjoy your new Cobra. Here is a pic of the car in my showroom before it sold.
