Winter project on my SPF
I got tired of looking at the cheap plastic clutch fluid reservoir and the difficult location of the plastic brake reservoir.
Parts: - Reservoir cans (Kirkham Motorsports) - Mounting bracket (Olthoff Racing) - Braided line kit (Olthoff Racing) Definitely a two man operation, can be done entirely from the topside of the car and we didn't even need to bleed the brakes or clutch slave after. http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...0220-00068.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...0220-00069.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...0220-00065.jpg |

Nicely Done Brian...Looks a lot better then the plastic.
|
Looks Good!
I'm thinking about changing my gas peddle linkage to rods like yours. You got any more photo's of your gas peddle and linkage? |
How can you tell how full they are without taking off the cap?
|
Brian..I need to give you a call. With my motor out it would be an easier conversion. I like it!
|
I know where a linkage setup in available...PM me.

Fantastic!!!!! I get much more enjoyment from my plastic one that I used leak seal around the bottom to stop it from leaking. Most that see it ask what is smeared on the bottom of mine, turns out to be conversation piece, similiar to the plastic oil line that came with it. Yours looks professional, fitting of a $40k plus roller, or should I say $40,500 roller. Great work!!!!

Are you serious...?

Real nice. I've been looking to do the same on 1134. Does the attachments to the brake master cyclinde come with the braded lines and what is the cost of parts? What short cuts did you learn during the install.
Thanks John |
Were you able to mount it higher than the Brake master cylinder? What did you use to connect the resorvior line to the master cylinder? Any pics of this? Looks nice :)

Dennis Olthoff sold me a complete connection kit for the reservoir assembly. It came with the following: 2 - bungs to go into the master cylinder ports 2 - 90 degree elbows (screwed into the bungs and allowed for braided lines to attach) 2 - braided lines with flare fittings to attach to the canisters/elbows. 1 - nipple to fitting to attach the clutch hose to the braided line back behind the power booster 1- braided line to attach to the clutch canister/nipple 1 - quality hose clamp http://www.olthoffracing.com/ 150 Cobra Lane Mt. Yes, the canisters are definitely higher than the master cylinder. Attached is a picture of the master cylinder connections. http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...0303-00079.jpg |

Real nice, I have the reservoirs on order from Kirkham. Thanks again for the info and great pics.
John:) |
Looking great!!!!
Was buying the cans from Kirkham last year - seems you was faster with the install. First i thought i would go with rubber hoses but after seeing yours i will use braided hoses too. Winter is allways a busy time...some actual projects on my SPF - replacing the plastic reservoirs - new billet clutch slave cylinder bracket - new valve cover gaskets - rear fog lamp - rear backup light - new seat spacers for the driver seat - headlamp warning buzzer - Hella Headlights - ..... - ..... Hate our long winters but this helps to do some work :-) Peter |
when you mounted the cans did you use the bracket dennis sent and if so did you drill two holes or four in the fire wall?

I drilled 2 holes on either side of the rivet located on the firewall. There is a 2" x 1" square tube behind the firewall in that location. You can locate the cans in the center of the firewall but do make sure you leave enough clearance for your throttle linkage. I made sure there was 1/2" between the closest canister and the linkage assembly. Take care when drilling as the heater core is just beyond that tube! |
