New Superformance Owner... from germany...
Hi
Last year i get my Cobra... best car ever... who needs a porsche--- :D Always nice to meet a Porsche on ther german autobahn, they get smaller and smaller in my rear view mirror  So my question what are your experience with your Cobra? How many miles do you have on your odometer? I have a Roush 427R engine with Webers and a TKO transmisson, i have now more than 8000+ miles on my odometer, what are your experience with this engine? How is the dependability of this engine? Till now it runs great... sorry when my english is not that good... |
Great car, great engine, your engine will last indefinatly, just change the oil and you will be fine. Have fun and drive fast.
|
Nice combo...
Mind you, I'd love a porsche in my garage. ...and your English is better than my German :-) Drive safe... |
Other than the minor teething problems of these cars, they should last. Mine has 9k and it also developed a rear end leak yet to be identified. As for your English, it's excellent as compared to folks where I live. 209

I'm envious- I would love to take a Cobra for a cruise on the autobahn. Especially the stretch from Stuttgart to Munich and then down to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. What a great drive that was when I was stationed there in 75-76.

Hi CCopra,
Welcome aboard and great to have some European hook ups. I am located in Luxembourg, not sure if you close enough to me ? I am planning a long weekend cruise through the Black Forest some time in May and a few more trips during the year. I have a great mechanic in Zell Mosel the only guy i trust to work on and let alone drive the Cobra. Stay safe and we loooove the autobahn. Skippy. |
All the more reason to get my Daytona Coupe running and take it to the bahn.

Hi CCobra!
Greetings from Austria!!!! And wish you much fun with your car. Peter PS: ..schreib mal ne PM würd mich interessieren mehr von Dir und Deinem Auto zu erfahren |
CCopra,
Tag. Wo wohnen Sie? There are some nice back roads around the Schwarzwald. Autobahn would be fun for awhile. I'm sure you have earplugs for the open spots and radiator coolant for the staus. Would love to take a couple runs up the mountains in Bavaria. And of course the Nordschleife would be fun in the Cobra. Bob |
Hello CCopra,
greetings from the Netherlands. These cars are great (and very fast). I live less than an hour from the German border. If ever you want, come over and visit me. When the weather is fine I can take you for a tour in the area I live. We can take both SPF's or we can take one of the cars. The surroundings are very nice to drive. We have a meeting with the Dutch Cobra Club every first sunday of the month. PM me if you want to visit. Where do you live in Germany? |
Feel free to contact me with any electrical issues...

Your English is fine.....it must be a blast to drive one of these cars in Europe.....but, with all due respect, I will have to disagree somewhat with your comments about Porsche ...(Even suspecting they were made in jest and as a way of acknowleding the stupendous performance of the Superformance). I have owned several 911's including my current 993 and I have driven them on the autobahn and on the backroads of the American West and they are very capable GT machines. There are dozens of cars that can go 130 MPH but damn few that can go 130 miles in a hour...and a Porsche can do that with the air on the the radio playing ...quitely and comfortably. I would not want to drive my Superformance that fast that far. I read in here that people drive these cars at those speeds but not me.
Anything over 85 is too much for me. Just saying, just my opinion. :) |
85....lol really?
Dude! Really? |
85?
We spent a couple years in Germany. My wife’s 4 cyl RAV4 would cruise 85 mph on the autobahn. Best my Miata would do was 125 mph (top down…pre-supercharger). Germany was the king of innocent looking, de-badged sedans that would absolute rock your car as they blasted by at outrageous speeds. The Cobra would be fun for a while, but would get old on the autobahn and cause quite a ruckus in the tiny villages. Bob |
well said many cars can go 130mph very very few can go 130 miles in one hour!!!!
|
Hi
wow so many comments... my top speed was 140mph... but i have to say, it was not fun... you can go this speed only for a short time, BUT i have to say most of the time when i meet a porsche i drive by shift from 5 into 4 or 3 gear and scare them to death, :MECOOL: normaly when i drive on the autobahn its more cruising around 80mph, |

Hey CCopra,
I am also German, own SPF #2370 (402 Roush), but living in Ireland. So this would make it fairly hard to meet on the Autobahn :-( Where abouts in Germany are you? Where did you get the SPF to pass the TÜV (German car test) ? PM me if you want to hear more in German ;-) |
