Help ! Can't bleed clutch master cylinder
I have posted this in Transmission forum as well but still haven't solved issue
Disconnected flex line / hard line junction to my hydraulic throwout. After I hooked it back together It should be easy job to bleed but can't get any fluid out with vacuum bleeder. Tried old fasion buddy pushing pedal down while I open bleed screw method but no fluid comming out Tried bleeding at master cylinder bleed valve . Can't suck anything out with Mityvac vacuum bleeder . As suggested by someone in Transmission forum I managed to push fluid back from Bleed valve of master cylinder until all the master cylinder , and remote reservoir and lines all filled with new fluid You would think at that point I should have some pedal resistance but have nothing. Disconnected at hard line / flex line junction after master cylinder and only had a dribble. Tried also vacuum bleeder and still no fluid Hillbank suggested replacing master cylinder. I find it hard to believe that after 6000 miles the master cylinder for the clutch would have gone. Clutch worked fine before I disconnected the flex line Any advise would be welcome |
Something going on with the master cylinder for sure, take it apart and inspect it, they are simple devices. Good luck, Wolfgang

Make sure the pedal is coming all the way up to the top. You may have to lift the pedal. If the pedal is not all the way to the top, it may not let any fluid into the piston (in the master cylinder).
Try the buddy system again, only this time have the person lift the pedal all the way to the top on every stroke. |
