Removing Glove Box Lock
Hello Everyone
Unfortunately when I purchased my SPF the previous owner lost the key for the glove box. I have ordered a new lock and key. My question is how do I take the old one out? I'm thinking the lock nut is on the inside of the glove box. Do I drill out the old tumbler? or is there an easier way? Any help is appreciated. Stu. #1950 |
sometimes the new key will work.. try that first. other than that I have no clue

Most of the locks aren’t on too tight, and there is nothing to keep you from very gently and slowly turning the entire lock and cylinder with a screwdriver (or the ignition key like I do). Just watch so you don't tear the black vinyl covering.

I always use a 4 pound hammer. :)

We just had two SPF's here where the little latch plate loosens it's screw and stays stuck in the locked position even turning the key. If you can push the glove door in and get a thin jimmy in the top you may be able to push the latch to one side.
