Seat placement
I am wondering if the SP seats are canted outward as much as the Backdraft cars. I have yet to see either car in person but have narrowed my manufacture search down to these two. I just feel like the outward canting of the seats would make for uncomfortable driving do to sitting a little sideways... Would feel like I am in my modified slinging it sideways but all the time rather than just in the corners.. lol

They are due to the angle of the foot wells. I do not notice it when driving.

I think SPF are angled out slightly, but I agree with Dont, it is not an issue. And I consider myself pretty particular about my Cobra.....

Check out the Corbeau Classic Bucket Seats. Classic look and maybe right size. However, I have not used them.

My seats are angled slightly outward and I do not notice it while driving.

The seating position in my SPF with a dropped footbox left me feeling as though I were driving slightly downhill. Every half hour or so I had to push myself back in the seat, regardless of high tight I had fastened the belts.
Dennis Olthoff is aware of the problem. He modifies the way the seat sits on the track to give a stable seating position.

Best bet is to go sit in a variety of cars and see what feels natural to you. It sounds like there are differences between the early and later SPFs and Backdrafts.
In my case, the seat is bolted to the floor all the way back and I was able to test the seat position before it was installed. Downside is that anyone shorter than me won't be able to drive it.

For my SPF I added spacers in the front of the driver's slide rails (seat to rails location) to tilt the seat back a bit. Much more comfortable (at least for me) - "in the seat" feel, more distance to the steering wheel (seat is all the way back) without getting too far from the pedals (still needed to extend the pedals a bit - I'm 5'6"). As for the leftward location of the pedals I got used to it real quick. By a few hundred miles didn't even notice it. I guess humans can get used to almost anything.
Personally, I would'nt let pedal offset be your determining factor, IMHO.

Thanks guys... The only reason I asked is because in a few pictures I have seen, the offset looked pretty substantial. Could have been a bad angle on the photographer... And I am trying to find some people in the DC metro area with a SPF and BD just to get an actual look at them and what not... Again, thanks for the info

My seats are canted? I never noticed. I have seen pictures where I thought the seats looked like they were at an angle, but I really never noticed that when looking at my car. As far as how it feels when I'm driving, when I first got the car it felt strange having my feet so far to the left, but I got used to pretty quick and really don't notice it anymore. Regarding the comment about sliding forward in the seat, I've never experienced that, but then Dennis Olthoff has worked on my seats and added his spacers to tilt the seats back for more comfort. I noticed that he sells those spacers if anyone would like to get some.

I had Dennis install Corbeau seats in my car. As I recall the factory seats were canted slightly and not quite centered on the steering wheel. The Corbeau seats are installed centered on wheel with no angle. The angle to reach the pedals is now more noticeable
