Superformance starting procedure

Superformance owners,

I need your help. We are going out to do a presale inspection on an older Superformance (built 1996) car. The owner said the starting procedures are a bit unusual. Can anyone let me know what to expect? Or what exactly is the procedure?

Thanks,

Skip

Unless the owner has installed a hidden kill switch(s) or something, you pretty much get in, pump the gas pedal once or twice (carbureted engine) and turn the key. If a push button starter was installed you insert the key and turn to position #1, pump the pedal and push the button. Perhaps he is referring to an engine without a automatic choke, in which case you keep it running for a min or two with the gas pedal....
Or maybe you turn the key and need to pray it starts?
I can't wait to hear what you needed to do to start it.....

Blas has it right...that's all I do (well, after taking a few minutes to snug up the Simpsons).

1996? What is the chassis number?

Depending on the car, there could also be a battery cutoff switch and also a fuel pump switch if these are disabled when car is parked

Make sure it is in nutral or it won't crank! (Nutral start switch)
