Roll bar fix article.
Does anyone have a copy of the roll bar fix ? ( Drilling out and installing a bolt.) Need to know what size bolt 1/4 inch or 5/16 inch and length you use? Thanks, Mark

IT was suggested to drill a new hole and tap it for a 1/4" bolt. (Use Grade 8)
Removing the rear wheel makes the job easier as does a new drill bit. I can send you a photo of my install if you send me your email address offline. If I were to do it again, I would look to see if a thru bolt and nut could be used rather than just a drill and tap attachment. |

Thanks, Ted |
Ted, If you take your back left tire off you can see the left side of the roll bar. There is a rivet holding the two pieces of tubing together. What you have to do is drill out the rivet and drill on thru the other side of the tubing. Then you tap out the hole and install a bolt. I was not sure of the size bolt to use and the length needed. The SCOF technical library has a tech article with instructions and photos for adding a bolt to the left leg of the roll bar.
This particular article is one of the complimentary "guest" articles available to all owners, and gives a taste of just a few of the resources available to Superformance owners through SCOF. Here is a link to the tech article index. The roll bar mod is one of the "Guest Tech Articles" listed in the upper left hand of the index. Complimentary S.C.O.F.
