Swapping out differential gears.

I've got SPF 2932. It came with the BTR differential and 3.46 gears. I'm trying to customize the trans and rear end ratios for my type of driving. I currently have a TKO 600 with the .64 fifth gear. I want to swap out the .64 for the .82 fifth gear but since I often can cruise at 75-80 mph, I want to also swap out the rear end for a 3.23 (or thereabouts). I'm told that the stock BTR rear end has no other ratios available. So how do I get the 3.23 rear end gears I need? If I need to swap out difs, which one is a direct swap?
I know someone out there has done this.

i haven't done it but I have the BTR also. I priced gears for it out of Australia at one time. By the time they got to me the price was ~$600 for a ring and pinion. I decided this was not a good idea. I got an FRPP 8.8 IRS center and I am building it out with a DPI diff a set or Mark Williams billet caps and a set of 3.27 FRPP gears.

To mount it you need to build the mounts.

Might as well go for 31 spline half shafts while your at it. These guys can be of great help with your project...

Have you thought about using a T56 transmission? The BTR is also called the GM 7.75 IRS; the only gears I know of are the 3.70 and 3.90 which are around $400.

I swapped out the .64 for a .82. Love it! Bob Hanlon did it for me. Great Guy. He had a customer that wanted the .64 instead of the .82. He also installed the carbon syncros. and re-did/checked everything. Very fair prices too.

We'll, after hitting a brick wall regarding a rear end gear swap, I decided to order a Levy racing custom alloy T-5 with a .80 fifth gear. Should shift better than my tko600 and easily handle the torque.

The .80 fifth fits my driving style a bit better than the .82 does. They also offer a .70 fifth gear but that one was still too tall for me.
