Chasing a heat related stall
Hot day, long drive…about two hours on the highway. Car is running well.
I stop for a couple minutes and start the car back up. Stop again and start it back up. Stop one more time, and as I start it back up and drive down the street the car just hiccups and dies. Clearly electric. Nothing works…fuel pump, horn, starter. Let it sit for an hour and it starts right back up and makes the 2 hour trip back home with no problems. Any thoughts on the culprit? |

Bill S. PS: As an alternative to the above, the car is totaled, I'll give you $100 for it :D |
Check the battery ground wire connection to the chassis. Just behind the battery under the carpeting. Check the ring connector on the cable itself and the bolted connection.

open trunk, pull back carpet by tail end of battery compartment. find ground lug and unscrew, only way to inspect. i have had the terminal break where it bolts to the chassis and it is not possible to see unless you disassemble.
