Laps at the Glen- 2014 Vintage Event

OK,

It is that time again! All Superformance and Caterham owners are invited to the SnakeNEST "Lunch Laps at the Glen" on September 7, 2014. As in the past we will have several paced but spirited laps of the historic Watkins Glen track during the lunch break in the SVRA Glenora Wine Cellars US Vintage Grand Prix.

Time Machines Motorsports with help from Olthoff Racing, Jim Kellogg and the crew at Watkins Glen International invite all Superformance cars to paticipate. You may take a passenger, no helmets are required and a good time is always had!

SnakeNEST is the "Superformance North East Superformance Team"......the club with no membership! SnakeNEST will be organizing some driving events for New York/Northeast owners in the future....more to come on that.

The Glen laps require you sign in at the Time Machines display in the upper paddock. The Time Machines display is in conjunction with the Olthoff Racing setup supporting the Superformance GT40 SVRA race car as well as several other vintage competition cars. Look for the sign and the giant "SUPERFORMANCE" teardrop flag.

Once signed in and issued your wristbands we will form up at the Time Machines/Olthoff area about 11:40 AM and be on track sometime after 12.10. The pace car driver does give us some pretty good "boot" but anyone who drops back to get a clear run will be flagged and booted.

You can let us know if you intend to participate with an email to rick(AT)timemachinesauto.com Depending on room we will invite some non Superformance/Caterham cars and owners to run with us so ask anyways.

There is no cost for this other than your general admission to the event. If you have never attended a Vintage Grand Prix at Watkins, now is the time to resolve that omission in your life.

Se you all there!

Sounds like a great event you're putting on.
Kudos!

Rick,

Hopefully there will be space available for a non-superformance car or two. Brenda and I would love to be there and take a couple of laps with everyone.

Ugh!....it's been 16 years since I've been to the Zippo VGP...would love to be there this year but I'm not going to be able to swing it... With SAAC in August and this GP in September, it will be a busy two months next year...guess I'll start planning now.

Just a reminder that the US Vintage Grand Prix is coming up this weekend at Watkins Glen International. This is one of the largest sports car vintage racing events in the United States and Superformance will be at the track all weekend.

Be sure to stop by, visit Olthoff Racing and Time Machines Motorsports in the pits, and sign up for the "Laps at The Glen" on Sunday!

Had a great time meeting old friends and making new friends at the US Vintage Grand Prix in Watkins Glen this last weekend!

Excellent day, beautiful weather and loooong ride from Rochester but well worth the trip! Glad I finally had the chance to meet up with you and chatting a little. The Cobras and GT40's really seem to draw a crowd!
Hope to do it again.

Thanks to all who attended and for the all of the owners who put the "hard sell" on people who were looking at the GT40s and MK IIIs. NOTHING sells the enthusiasm of an owner!

A great example is Jim whose wife wouldn't even SIT in a GT40 at the Glen two years ago. Some prodding got her in....some more got the door closed. Mike G. gave her a ride and on her return she announced to Jim "We GOTTA get us one of these!"

Long ride from Rochacha? No, Buffalo to the Glen in the GT40 was a longer ride BUT FUN!!!!!!

Rick,

Thanks a lot for a wonderful time. Could have taken 15 more laps if they would have let us! It was great seeing everyone and looking forwards to seeing you again.
