Front Fresh Air Ducts

Considered removing the Air Duct grill trim piece, but found it to be attached pretty good. I am afraid to mess with it, because it maybe glued to the car versus just sitting in place with the bracket holding it.
Has anyone tried removing this Air Duct grill trim piece?

The SPF ones I've had were bonded fairly well. Mostly on the outside flange of the snorkel where you can get to it. The mesh is fairly fragile and would be sacrificial to remove it I'm thinking but is cheap to replace and could be done.

One of my duct grills took a hit from a rock or something substantial that punched an ugly whole in it. They are held in place with the same god forsaken black gunk they use to hold the transmission tunnel in place. It is huge PIA to get the grills free from this super bonding blob, but it can be done with enough elbow grease and patience.

Thank you both for the response. Your experience with this air vent grill leads me to believe that I should leave it alone. Thanks for the helpful advice.
