First drive with new RT suspension

So I had Craig from craigscobras install RT's ball joints, sway bars, shocks, springs and shock towers. I also had Craig put on a new set of Mickey ST Tires. What a new car I have! No more steering wheel shake, it handles the curves so much better and just feels nice and tight. It's a real joy to drive now, very happy!

Buddy any update since the suspension update?

I did all the same upgrades but different tires.
It was a day and night difference in every aspect.
Well worth every penny spent.

Love the car with the new parts installed. I put 1000 fun filled miles on this Summer. No shake, handles way better and is safer with the shock tower upgrade.

Just do it!

I did all the Cobra Valley suspension upgrades short of the sway bar kit:

What are people running the shock settings at? I have 400# springs F/R running 9 rear and 8 forward right now...trying to get rid of the hobby horse feel over undulations (rear felt too soft).

Thanks

Would I get the same benefit

I am not sure I would get the same benefit. My car 3173 is different that yours as far as the sway bars on it now and the shocks too. How many miles was on your car when you swapped them out?

Bill,

With so few miles on your car, your current shocks, springs and sway bars will still have good value on the gently used market. My original parts went straight into the recycling bin as I did not want to deal with giving them away. My swap happened at 25k miles and I never knew these cars did not have to ride like go-carts.

I too did the sway bars, single adjustable shocks, 450 lb springs, and ball joints. Running the shocks at 5 clicks front and rear. World of difference.

Interesting post. My car currently has 13k miles and I'm looking into how to get a better ride quality. I currently have 17" wheels with the RT ball joints and RT sway bars. I've asked Randall for instructions on the sway bar kits as I think my front is not installed correctly....it has a collection of washers at the ends and just doesn't look correct to me.

At the ends of the front sway bar where it connects.....there is no way it is correct. I've asked for the installation instructions and have been told new instructions are being made. I need to get my photobucket password redone and I can post a picture. This is something I'm going to get correct when we tear into it over the summer
