I would encourage you to always see the car in person. I bought my car with 11K miles on it and it has better paint and is cleaner than most cars with 2000K miles. I've seen a few really nasty cars with low miles on them. That may not matter much to you but I would rather have higher miles on a car that has had much better care over its life. If you think about it we all get pretty caught up in mileage on these things and I guess it is due to people not rally driving them. When I first started looking I was so focused on low miles just because it was par for the course. Nothing is wrong with low miles but there are tons of cars with higher mileage that may be better sorted or have more of what your looking for. It still shouldn't be hard to find a mint car with low miles but you might pay for it. Good luck with your search and glad you are getting back in a cobra!

This is so true. I had a 2400 mile SPF that was very clean and was 10 years old. However, I also had a 20k mile 20 year old ERA that was cleaner and in better condition overall. I have a friend who owns a 35k mile high tech that still looks nearly new inside and out. I know of several other personal examples. Mileage and age is only one part of the equation.

And while my Cobra is a 'none of the above' (West Coast), it's a much better car today than it was when I bought it, notwithstanding the additional miles / kilometres on the odometer.

I would say you have to look at it completely different than a typical car purchase. When you are buying a normal vehicle it is assumed the latest year model and lowest mileage is an indication of wear. When it comes to Cobras my thought process is the higher the miles the better sorted the car may be. My car had a lot of additional work performed and it's better sorted now than when I bought it.....and I still have things to correct. They are definitely an on going project but are very rewarding

I have one for sale but it has more miles and probably not as new nor perfect as you want. But you never know until you ask or offer. Nice car, great driver but not a show car.

Not at all. It's just like everything else in life, why settle for something you aren't going to be completely happy with. In truth, I am now looking at a new build.

Please share what you are looking for? Color, engine, etc...

Brian,

Putting your projected budget out there stops people from wasting your time, and with the same mindset, you wasting some of the current owners time. %/

Charlie at Browns Automotive in Scottsdale AZ has a brand new SPF with a Roush 427 small block and a TKO 600.
It has 10 miles on it as of this AM at a local car show.
It's brand new, it's perfect.
Give him a call if you really are looking to buy and not just kicking tires.

I would like to thank everyone who has helped me in my search for another Cobra. There are a lot of very nice used Superformance Cobras out there for sale. I have found a new build that we are close to making a deal on and will post up pictures when I take delivery.
